本標準規(guī)定了供行動不便人員使用的(可站立或乘坐輪椅車、也可有人伴隨或無人伴隨)永久安裝的動力驅動垂直升降平臺的安全準則、尺寸和功能。本標準規(guī)定了下述升降平臺的要求：安裝在封閉井道內；設計或安裝地點允許其在未封閉的井道內使用。本標準適用于如下的升降平臺：在固定的樓層之間運行；對于安裝在未封閉井道內且不穿過樓板運行的升降平臺：提升高度不大于2m；在私人住宅里，提升高度不大于4m；額定速度不大于0.15m/s；運行方向與垂直面夾角不大于15°；額定載重量不小于250kg。
