This European Standard specifies the technical requirements to minimise the hazards listed in Clause 4 which can arise during the commissioning, the operation and the maintenance of passenger stairs when used as intended, including misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer, when carried out in accordance with the specifications given by the manufacturer or his authorised representative. It also takes into account some requirements recognised as essential by authorities, aircraft and ground support equipment (GSE) manufacturers as well as airlines and handling agencies. This European Standard applies to: a) self-propelled stairs with seated driver; b) pedestrian controlled stairs; c) towable stairs equipped with powered means, e. g. for height adjustment, stabilisers; d) automatic levelling systems of stairs for embarking/disembarking of passengers. "Powered" should also be understood as manual effort stored in springs or hydraulic accumulators, etc., the dangerous action of which can be produced or can continue after the manual effort has ceased or directly applied manual effort for lifting or lowering loads. Those clauses of this standard that can apply may also be used as a guideline for the design of towable stairs without powered means. This European Standard does not establish additional requirements for the following: 1) persons falling out of an aircraft with the passenger stairs not in position; 2) hazards resulting from a moving stairway (escalator); 3) upper deck door access. This part of EN 12312 is not applicable to passenger stairs which are manufactured before the date of publication of this standard by CEN. This part of EN 12312 when used in conjunction with EN 1915-1, EN 1915-2, EN 1915-3 and EN 1915-4 provides the requirements for passenger stairs.
This European Standard specifies health and safety requirements, as well as some functional and performance requirements, for catering vehicles intended for cabin re-supply and servicing or loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies on all aircraft types commonly in service in civil air transport. The minimum essential criteria are considered to be of primary importance in providing safe, serviceable, economical, and practical catering vehicles. Deviations from the recommended criteria should occur only after careful consideration, extensive testing, risk assessment and thorough service evaluation have shown alternative methods or conditions to be satisfactory. Such deviations are outside the scope of this standard and a manufacturer should be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of protection. This European Standard is a Type C standard as stated in EN ISO 12100. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events are covered are indicated in the scope of this document. When provisions of this Type C standard are different from those stated in Type A or B standards, the provisions of this Type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this Type C standard. Deviations from requirements do not fall within the presumption of conformity given by the standard.
This European Standard deals with the assembling and bonding of glass elements in a frame, window, door or curtain walling construction, or directly into the building by means of structural bonding of the glass element into or onto framework or directly into the building. It gives information to the assembler to enable him to organise his work and comply with requirements regarding quality control. Structural sealant glazing can be incorporated into the fa?ades (curtain walls, doors and windows) or roofs as follows:- either vertically; or- up to 7° from the horizontal, i.e. 83o from the vertical. This European Standard only deals with the bonding to glass surfaces, i.e. coated or uncoated or enamelled, and metallic surfaces, i.e. aluminium (anodized or coated), stainless steel, as considered in clause G.2 of EN 15434.
This European Standard specifies the requirements for general purpose offshore cranes. This standard applies to cranes, which are manufactured after the date of issue of this standard. For the purposes of this standard the boundary bewteen a general purpose offshore crane and its support is assumed to be as follows: When welding a pedestal to the structure, the boundary is the first horizontal weld following the flange in a downward direction, normally not less than 1,5 X the pedestal diameter from the flange.
To specify the design and dimensioning criteria and methods for residential ventilation systems.
This part of BS 6262 gives information and recommendations for vertical glazing in the external walls andinteriors of buildings, with respect to their effect on the energy, light and sound environments in thebuilding. These recommendations do not apply to:a) patent glazing (see BS 5516-1);b) glass in non-vertical applications (see BS 5516-2);c) glazing for furniture and fittings (see BS 7376 and BS 7449);d) glazing for commercial greenhouses (see BS 5502-21);e) glazing for domestic greenhouses.Requirements for standards of workmanship for glazing have been published separately as BS 8000-7 andtherefore this subject is not dealt with in this standard.
This document specifies the safety requirements for floating cranes including their supporting pedestals or structures.nThis document applies to cranes manufactured after the date of issue of this document. nThis document does not cover:na) fabrication, assembly, dismantling or changing the configuration of the crane;nb) lifting accessories, i.e. any item between the hook and the load;nc) design temperature below -20 ℃;nd) operations at an ambient temperature above 50 ℃;ne) cranes covered by the Machinery Directive.nThe significant hazards covered by this document are identified in clause 4.nThis document includes requirements for lifting of persons. The use of cranes for lifting of persons may be subject to specific national regulations. Where National Authorities permit the use of a floating crane for the lifting of persons, the crane would at least need to fulfil the requirements of this standard and be adopted in accordance with the relevant National regulations for the lifting of persons.
